How to Make Your Bouquet Last Longer
By Team Shreenathji · 8 August 2026 · 4 min read

Fresh flowers are a small daily joy, and a little care goes a long way toward keeping them around longer.
Trim the stems at an angle. Every couple of days, snip about an inch off each stem at a 45-degree angle with clean scissors. This exposes fresh tissue so the flowers can keep drinking water.
Change the water regularly. Bacteria build up fast in vase water, which is the #1 cause of flowers wilting early. Change it every two days, and rinse the vase itself, not just the water.
Keep them cool and out of direct sun. Heat speeds up wilting. Keep your bouquet away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and ripening fruit (fruit releases ethylene gas, which ages flowers faster).
Remove leaves below the waterline. Any foliage sitting in water will rot and cloud it quickly — strip it off before arranging.
Use flower food. The little sachet that comes with our bouquets isn't just packaging — it balances sugar (food for the flowers) and an anti-bacterial agent that keeps the water clean.
Follow these and most bouquets from us will comfortably last 6-8 days, sometimes longer for hardier varieties like chrysanthemums and carnations.
